On April 6, 2023, Zhu Guangyao, Chief Advisor of the World Finance Forum and former Vice Minister of China’s Ministry of Finance, along with Gao Xiqing, Senior Advisor of the World Finance Forum, former Vice Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, and former General Manager and Chief Investment Officer of China Investment Corporation, held a symposium in Beijing with Evan Greenberg, a prominent U.S. business leader, Vice Chairman of the Board of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, and Chairman of Chubb Group. They exchanged views on topics such as changes in the global economic landscape, China’s economic situation, China-U.S. economic and trade relations, investments and development of U.S.-funded enterprises in China, and artificial intelligence.
Feng Xingke, Secretary-General of the World Finance Forum and Director of the Center for BRICS and Global Governance (CBGG), as well as Zhang Bei, Chairman of Chubb Insurance China, along with representatives and council members from collaborative organizations of the World Finance Forum and the CBGG, attended the symposium organized by the World Finance Forum.
On October 26, 2022, President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the annual awards dinner of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations. In the letter, he extended congratulations to Evan Greenberg, Vice Chairman of the Board of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations and Chairman of Chubb Group, on receiving the award, and expressed appreciation for the committee and its members' longstanding active efforts in promoting the development of U.S.-China relations and enhancing exchanges and cooperation between the two countries across various fields.
President Xi Jinping pointed out that the world today is neither tranquil nor stable. As major countries, strengthened communication and cooperation between China and the United States will help increase global stability and certainty, as well as contribute to world peace and development. China is willing to work with the United States to strive for mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation, finding the right way to get along in the new era, which benefits both nations and the world at large.
President Xi Jinping expressed hope that the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations and friends from various sectors who care about and support U.S.-China relations will continue to play an active role in helping restore bilateral ties to a track of healthy and stable development.
